Privacy Policy

Mangasm (“we”, “us”) operates the Mangasm iOS application and this website. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.
What we collect
- Account data: sign-in identifier (e.g. Apple ID token), display name, age affirmation timestamp.
- Profile data you provide: photos, bio, interests, optional sensitive fields (hidden by default until you opt in).
- Usage & safety: reports, blocks, consent logs, reputation signals.
- Purchases: subscription status via Apple In-App Purchase (we do not store card numbers).
- Location: coarse neighbourhood-level zones only — we do not display raw precise coordinates to other members.
What we do not do
- Sell personal data to data brokers.
- Run third-party advertising networks inside the app.
- Collect health data (HIV status was removed from the product entirely).
Legal basis & retention
We process data to provide the service, ensure safety, and comply with law. You may delete your account in-app; deletion removes your profile and cascades associated data except where retention is required by law.
Your privacy choices
You control the data Mangasm holds about you. Every choice below is available to you:
- Delete your account and data. In the app, open Settings → Delete Account. This purges your profile on our servers and cascades to associated data, except where retention is required by law. No email request is needed.
- Decline location. Location is optional. You may deny the permission or type a ZIP code instead, and the app remains fully usable. We do not use location for advertising or tracking.
- Control who can see or contact you. Block and report are available from any profile or chat via the overflow menu. Blocking is bidirectional.
- Leave the waitlist or mailing list. If you gave us an email address on the website, write to the address below and we will remove it.
- Request a copy of your data, or its correction. Email privacy@mangasm.app and we will respond within 30 days.
We do not sell personal data, so no “do not sell” opt-out is required. We do not run third-party advertising networks in the app.
